APOLLO ENGLISH WAS HONOURED TO BE THE FIRST RECIPIENT OF THE ASIA'S INSPIRATIONAL BRAND AWARD

As home to nearly 60% of the world's population, Asia is on a strong growth path to becoming an important link to global development. In light of this, the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) brings together over 2000 members, 36 countries, leading entrepreneurs and organisations across Asia to drive the continent's sustainable socio-economic development.

The APEA 2022 Awards Ceremony was successfully held with the attendance of respected nominees and guests. To ensure the most accurate assessment of finalist selection, the Organising Committee had rounds of judging and interviews with business leaders. We had a passionate and inspiring conversation with Ms. Vu Dieu Trang - CEO of Apollo English, the longest-established English educational organisation in Vietnam, after being awarded the “Inspirational Brand Award” at APEA 2022.

Nearly 30 years of dedication to education and Vietnamese children…

Trang said it was her pride and privilege to inherit the dedication and vision of the co-founder - Khalid Muhmood. Born and raised in England into a family of educators, he together with his wife, Arabella, decided to come to Vietnam in the 90s when both were enthusiastic young teachers. With the belief that education is the gateway to a bright future, two young foreigners wished to bring English closer to all children. Thus, the centre named Apollo English was born in Vietnam, becoming the first foreign-owned English language centre in the country.

30 years have passed and things are ever-changing.  Today Apollo English centres can be found in cities and provinces nationwide, while the passion of the two founders for education has remained unchanged. With the quality of teaching, student progress and sustainable development as top priorities, the organisation has constantly improved their learning experience for students. The use of the English language is much more than just a form of communication - it also opens up a wonderful new world to explore, helping students master their future skills and unleash their potential in the ever-changing world.

In the education market where institutions are talking about the academic scores and tuition fees, Apollo English has created its own pathway: Learning through inspiration - an educational philosophy that Apollo pioneered to bring to children. It is unfeasible to equip the future generation with the education of the past, as the skill set they need for work will be much different from what we've known so far. In other words, while we might not know how the world will change in the next 10 years, we do need an appropriate method, which is the love of learning and new discoveries. With a lifelong love of learning, they will confidently master the ever-changing world.

There are even family generations from uncles and aunts to nieces and nephews who are Apollo students. This is the great happiness of those who are devoted to education.”
