Platform Project Manager

Apollo seeks someone with a passion for education and EdTech to take on a key role in large scale innovation projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as the Platform Project Manager.

The Platform Project Manager (PPM) will coordinate strategic technology initiatives for Apollo English, including the transition to a new platform on which our programs depend. The PPM will oversee platform development and delivery to budget and schedule, ensuring an effective launch across the organization. 

Key accountabilities:

1. Project Management

  • Partnered closely with our technology supplier, provide all-round project management, ensuring Apollo stakeholders are involved as needed, monitor schedule/budget, prevent scope creep, document platform features, create user guides, lead on UAT, and more. 
  • Before, during and after project launch, proactively trouble-shoot and resolve issues and road-blocks.

2. Collaboration and Communication

  • Communicate continually across external channels and with Apollo teams to ensure alignment, buy-in, clarity, and engagement. 
  • Collaborate closely with technology suppliers and the Apollo management team to deliver on our platform and product roadmap, 
  • Help extend the plan after the new platform launch, with upgrades and enhancements. 

3. Research and Analysis

  • Research and analyze user behavior and analytics to inform product enhancement and upgrades. 
  • Keep updated on educational industry developments and English Language Teaching technology trends with a focus on young learner UX, communicating relevant information and insights to key stakeholders.

4. Project Administration

  • Create and update key project documentation and resources, ensuring cross-team clarity and co-operation. 
  • Create and circulate various reports (research, UAT, customer pilots, etc.)

5. Testing

  • Collaborate with our technology suppliers on platform/system testing to ensure Apollo business requirements are met and systematic user acceptance testing done. 
  • Support our marketing team with A/B testing.

6. Training

  • Draw on knowledge gained during the requirement analysis and new platform implementation to create clear and engaging user guides and deliver training in-person and online.
Job Requirements
  • Passionate about educational innovation 
  • Degree/professional credentials in a relevant field (education, ELT, educational technology, applied linguistics, etc)
  • Proven ability to manage complex, fast-based projects
  • Ability to switch between management and creative work modes
  • Solid and up-to-date understanding of ELT/educational platforms and applications
  • Commercial acumen and market research experience
  • Ability to negotiate solutions with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret customer needs and inform product/ program/ platform development
  • Organized, highly collaborative, action oriented
  • Strong English proficiency (both verbal and written)
